SmCo Magnets

SmCo magnet is also a kind of rare earth magnet, which is a kind of permanent magnet made of Samarium, Cobalt and other metal materials by proportion, and was successfully developed in 1970. Its main characteristics are high magnetic properties and good temperature resistance. Compared with NdFeB, Samarium Cobalt is more suitable for working in high temperature envIronment. Samarium Cobalt has good corrosion resistance, so generally speaking, electroplating is not required.

However, due to the special molecular structure of Samarium Cobalt, it is more fragile and easy to crack. In addition, Samarium Cobalt, the main component of Samarium Cobalt, has low reserves on earth, so it is also very expensive. Samarium Cobalt can be divided into SmCo5 and Sm2Co17 according to its composition, which are the first and second generation of rare earth permanent magnet materials.
